Our Board Members

Alison Spalding – CEO

Our founder & CEO, Alison Spalding, holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and is a certified Guardian ad Litem with the state of Florida. As a former social worker, she has seen the gaps in the foster care system firsthand. Alison started this organization with the belief that meaningful, personal gifts are essential to childhood. While foster care addresses basic needs, there are still many services lacking in the system. Alison consults with adults who were raised in foster care, as well as current foster agency staff, to determine the most effective ways to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve.

Al Sterling – President

Al Sterling has spent over twenty years in the education and non profit spaces. He holds a Masters in Education and has served on non-profit boards for over 6 years. He is proud to serve Fostering Kindness, and looks forward to helping it grow.

Lisa A. Schneider – Vice President

Originally from New York, for nearly 50 years now, Lisa relishes calling Central Florida home. She is and has been the owner of several successful small businesses in the area since graduating as a French major from Rollins College. Feeling so fortunate for all the good that life has offered her, Lisa has always believed in giving back to the community where she lives and supporting causes which she espouses.

Lisa is now honored to serve on the Board of Directors of Fostering Kindness . She looks forward to playing a small part in helping Fostering Kindness give rays of hope, joy and self-worth to these delicate young people who, by no fault of their own, are in the “less-than-perfect” Foster Care system.

Eliese Chubb – Secretary

Eliese Chubb has devoted much of her life to the care, encouragement, and development of youth and children. Eliese learned about Fostering Kindness through a charity giveaway and was instantly drawn to the mission Alison was on. She looks forward to furthering the reach of Fostering Kindness throughout Central Florida and beyond.

Toni Pollock – Director of Development

I am honored to bring my development skills and experience to Fostering Kindness. In my former position as sales manager, I was responsible for expanding sales areas, negotiating deals, and answering proposal requests for national and international clients. My role as Fostering Kindness’ Development Director is to provide the organization with the financial resources required to expand its support to children in Central Florida’s foster care system, a role that I am privileged to hold.

Andi Pérez  – Marketing Director

Andi Perez has worked in Marketing, Communications, and Events for 13+ years. She currently oversees a team of Community Managers across the southeast as a Regional Director of Community & Marketing for Yelp, Inc. In addition to her professional career, community involvement has always played a large role in her life. Andi previously won a Credo Impact Award for building community in Orlando, served as the President of the Board of Directors for a local children’s education nonprofit, and was appointed by Orlando Mayor Dyer to serve on the Orange Blossom Trail Development Board for a term of two years. She is also an active Rollins College alumna (BA ’10, MA ’12). She gave the Keynote Address at the 2020 Women’s Leadership Institute, and served three years as an official Alumni Mentor. Additionally, Andi has been an invited panelist at the Rollins Job Market Boot Camp, was an invited speaker on the Central Florida Women’s Leader Panel at Rollins’ Panhellenic Council’s Women’s Leadership Council, and presented on the Crummer Business School’s Advanced Management Workshop Employer Panel in 2019. And finally, she has served on multiple business advisory panels with the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship.

Terry Spalding – Member at large

Terry Spalding, husband to Alison Spalding, assists with the business and community considerations for Fostering Kindness. As an active board member, Terry participates in the planning, execution and follow up necessary to support Fostering Kindness’ mission. Terry has spent his professional career focusing on the healthcare needs in his community. As a Registered Nurse for over 15 years, Terry has experience working in community health, acute care and in-home care. A passion for knowledge and desire to educate has opened up multiple healthcare and business opportunities over the years, but he is most honored to currently be involved with Fostering Kindness as a Member at Large.
